Senior Life Solutions
Finding new hope for older adults.
We all want the best for our aging family members. But as we grow older, diminishing physical and mental abilities, as well as the loss of loved ones, can often lead to sadness and withdrawal. And when these changes become persistent or unusual behaviors appear, it may signal an emotional or mental health disorder.
At Big Bend, we offer a unique outpatient program that’s specially designed for adults 65+. The Senior Solutions program is for those experiencing symptoms of depression or anxiety often related to aging, including:
- Loneliness
Here at Big Bend, a professional staff member can help you understand what’s happening to your loved one and determine the best course of care.
Who qualifies?
Anyone 65+ who meets the criteria can participate in the Senior Solutions program. To qualify, individuals must undergo a preliminary screening to assess their level of need. Seniors can be self-referred or referred by a family member, physician or other healthcare professional.
Caring for your loved one
Based on the results of the preliminary screening, a team will work with the patient (and family) to develop a personalized treatment plan. During the course of treatment, your loved one will be cared for by a variety of behavioral health specialists, including a board-certified psychiatrist, licensed therapist and other professionals to ensure they receive the best care possible. Through it all, they’ll be treated with kindness, encouragement and respect.
Treatment plan options
Depending on your loved one’s specific needs, the treatment plan may include:
- Health assessments
- Individualized treatment goals
- Private consultations with a psychiatrist
- Individual and group therapy/activities
- Patient and family education
