BIG BEND REGIONAL MEDICAL CENTER NAMES NEW CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER
ALPINE, TX (September 6, 2024)- Big Bend Regional Medical Center (BBRMC) announced the appointment of Robert Nelson, MBA, MHA, BSN, RN, as the new Chief Executive Officer, effective September 16, 2024. To ensure a smooth transition, Nelson will work closely with Greg Kiser, BB RM C’s interim CEO.
“We are excited to welcome Rob to the BBRMC family. His extensive experience and passion for driving excellence in healthcare will be invaluable to our hospital and community,” said Chris Lacy, Chairman of the Board. “We also wish to extend our gratitude to Greg Kiser for his exceptional leadership as interim CEO.”
Rob Nelson brings nearly 30 years of experience in progressive healthcare leadership, spanning both acute tertiary and ambulatory settings. Over the past year, he has served as interim CEO and CNO of Alta Vista Regional Hospital in New Mexico. Some of his previous leadership roles include positions at Southwestern Medical Center, Franciscan Missionaries of Our Lady Health System, and Norwegian American Hospital. Nelson has also worked as a stroke program disease reviewer for The Joint Commission.

Nelson earned his Master of Business Administration and Health Administration from the University of Pittsburgh and his Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Pennsylvania State University.
